Show j LATEST DISPATCHES. Opening the Great Exposition. . New Oblenns, November 10. The inaugural inaugu-ral ceremonies of the North, South and Central Cen-tral American 'Exposition are progressing smoothly; weather clear and pleasant. Commercial exchanges, are closed and all other business is in a measure suspended, flags displayed throughout the city and on the shipping. The initial feature of the ceremonies cer-emonies was the procession, which moved promptly at 10:30 o'clock. First came the military,, immediately followed by a long line of carriages occupied by the Managers' of the Exposition, United States, State and City Officials, Foreign Consuls Con-suls and invited guests. The procession moved through the principal streets to the head of Canal street, where steamers were in readiness to convey the participants to the Exposition grounds. |
