The civil war still rages in Peru, and is likely to continue for some time, as the Government troops give no indication of following up the advantages advan-tages already gained. One or two encounters encoun-ters have taken place between the Government Govern-ment troops and a band of irregular cavalry, commanded .by the noted Cuban, Colonel Sacheco Cespedes. The commander at Chi-cla Chi-cla reports the forces under Cespedes completely com-pletely routed in the fight on the 20th ult., , and their leader wounded and deserted by j his men.
