Show A NUT. Wm. A. C. Smoot, Jr., writing from Manti, Sanpete, Utah, under date of December De-cember the 4th, 1885, to the Territorial Enquirer of Provo, says : The Salt Lake excitement has reached into all parts of the southern country, affecting Mormons, Gentiles and Jews. Expressions ranging all the way from moderation to the wildest enthusiasm are heard, yet the great majority are of the opinion that, as yet, sufficient suf-ficient facts concerning the late shooting scrape have not been forthcoming to justify a full and settled conclusion, so further developments de-velopments are anxiously awaited before passing judgment, which shows the good sense of the people. " The City Council assures the country that there is no excitement whatever in Utah, yet Mr. Smoot says that the Salt-Lake Salt-Lake excitement has reached into all parts of the southern country. We trust that the Xeics and Herald will not charge Mr. Smoot with conspiring against the peace and property of the people of Utah. If we mistake not, Mr. Smoot suffered imprisonment in Bavaria for preaching Mormonism, and was finally expelled from that country. Dr. FOOTE, Senior, Of 120 Lexington Avenue, New York, Hereby cautious the public NOT to Employ or Communicate Willi a man styling' himself "Dr. Foot, Jr. without making due inquiry. This man came to Salt Lake City representing himself as the M)u of Dr. E. B. Footb ot New York, the well kuown specialist, as abundantly E roved by affidavits. As rumors came into Salt ake City from Dakota and Montana from an expose made there, he changed his base and represented himself as the tou of a more noted specialist in New York City than Dr. E. B. Foote, the well known author. Mr. John F. Trow of the well known frow's Directory, in New York City (forty years in the directory business), Ex-Governor Fbakk Fuller, of Utah, and the Hon. Abram Wakeman, 'or many years Postmaster iu New York City, also Surveyor of the Port, gave their affidavits that there are no other doctors in New York by the name of Foot or Foote, excepting Dr. E. B. Foote, the author of "Medical Common Sense," etc., and his two nons, Dr. E. B. Foote, Jr., and Dr. Hubert T. Foote. The genuine Dr. Foote, Jr., will hereafter here-after always employ the initials, E. B., in designating desig-nating his name. Heretofore he has been known not only at home but wherever his publications pub-lications have been circulated, by the name of Dr. Foote, Jr. Greater care will be taken hereafter, here-after, in view of the fact that an unprincipled person has assumed to profit by his and his father's reputation. Those desiring furthei and more detailed information in-formation in respect to this matter, will receive it by addressing Box 414, Salt Lake City, Utah. Persons having information of advantage to plaintiffs will kindly communicate the same to J. W. Ivey, with Sutherland & McBride, Salt Lake City. . Those desiring to consult Dr. Foote profes sionally or to order remedies should address either Dr. E. B. FOOTE, Sr.,or Dr. E. B. FOOTE, Jr., ISO Lexington Ave., New York.
