Show TIE CURSE OF THE CURS A Little Carl Seriously Bitten by a Usclcsfc AVltelp Last Wednesday a 13yearold girl named Margaret Godwin living at Mr Fysons called at a house on Eighth East street between Brigham and First South to make an inquiry She had no sooner entered the yard than a large vicious dog of the Newfoundland specie sprang upon the terrified girl with the fierceness of a wild beast A gentleman present in the yard rescued her and she was in the act of leaving when the dog started foi her a second time and bit her right arm above the elbow in a bad manner man-ner The owner of the canine expressed his willingness t have the cur killed as it was necessary to keep it chained up the most of the time A doctor examined the bite which is not dangerous though on account of warm weather and the enraged en-raged condition of the animal the injury was somewhat alarming This morning the little girl accompanied accom-panied by her mother appeared before Prosecuting Attorney Fletcher and swore out a complaint against Mr Simons the owner of the dog which is claimed to be fierce and dangerous The fact is again made evident that Salt Lake has altogether alto-gether too many useless dogs and they should be taxed I to lessen the number and if that does not meet the demand they should be caged and disposed of to I the next circus or drowned in the Jordan < |
