Show Crop Itcport CHICAGO Jane 13The following is the crop summary printed by the Farmers Review Re-view for this week The wheat harvest has been somewhat retarded South by showery weather but in other localities that rain has had a beneficial effect Missouri has the best prospects for an even and abundant abund-ant winter wheat crop Iteports on tho condition winter wheat are as follows Twenty counties in Illinois report an average aver-age condition of 87 per cent seven counties report injury from drouth and insects EevG counties in Indiana report an average aver-age condition of 86 per cent four counties report an injury by insects Seven counties in Michigan report an average condition of 877 and two of them complain of insects Five counties in Wisconsin report an average aver-age condition of 85 per cent four counties report au average of 8 per cent The average aver-age condition falls to G7 per cent in twelve Kansas counties Reports of injury from insects and drouth aro general Chautaqua county reports an almost total failure of tho crop and in Ness county it is the same Five counties in Kentucky report re-port an average condition of 91 per cent prt Twelve counties in Missouri report an average condition of a trifle over 100 percent per-cent The condition of spring wheat pr sprg thirteen counties in Iowa place the condition at B per cent with injury from insects in seven Three Kansas counties place tho average at G per cent Seven counties in Nebraska have an average of 87 per cent with injury from insects and drought in three Dakota imports four counties with an average condition of 9 per cent Fourteen Four-teen counties in Minnesota report an average condition of 86 per cent The corn crop all through tho corn belt is above the average in condition and prospects are good Oats and grass have suffered from dry weather Potatoes are in good condition and fruits promise a fair crop as a rule |
