Show AN 31 P ROBBED The Ulan Accused of the Theft Proves loBe a WellItnown Commercial Man No little excitement was created at the WalkerHoase last evening by the arrest of Oscar Krouse a guest at the house on the charge of stealing several trifling articles from the valice of Loftus Toten ham an English M P The Grand Jury being in session this morning Krouse was taken before them instead of going before the Commissioner Commis-sioner Many stories are in circulation as to the particulars the theft One rumor has It that Krouse has followed the Commoner Com-moner from San Francisco and has for along a-long time been laying for a chance to get at the M Ps chattels This story however how-ever is rather knocked by the develop ment that Krouse is a member of the wellknown firm of Hurlburt Co of Chicago and as he is pretty well up in the world it does not seem likely that he would trouble himself to carry off a few brushes from a valise not belonging to I him Those who know Krouse cling to the theory that if he was guilty of theft it was while he was under the influence of liquor and utterly oblivious of hjs own actions Another rumor has it that there is a woman in the affair though in publishing publish-ing this it is given simply as a rumor and nothing more The theory of this version is that the M P and Krouse are rivals that the woman who has recently re-cently favored the M P decided yesterday yes-terday that she preferred Krouse and that it was through her that the articles were transferred to the commercial man The true inwardness of the case will probably never be known unless Krouse is indicted and comes before the court I for trial V |
