Show Library DEX book sale Kyle Spencer Staff Writer The library DEX Delta Epsilon Chi book sale was held on May 9 10 and 11 in inthe inthe inthe the College Center Presidents President's room at Thousands of books were either donated or collected from teachers by DEX mem mem- bers The sale served to clear books and magazines from the library and provided funds for the library and DEX The books sold for one two or three dollars The majority of sales were dollar books Magazine buffs made off with 20 magazines for a dol dol- lar Fun Bucks were used as asan asan asan an incentive to go back to the swap to buy more For every three books purchased the buyer uyer drew a chip which indicating indicating indicating in in- which Fun Buck would be received Buy one get one free 1 off or 2 off next purchase DEX plans to make this an annual event According to DEX member Melinda Hancock Hancock Hancock Han Han- cock much was gained from the activity Hancock stated Not only did the sale raise needed funds for the library and DEX it gave us new marketing ideas for future book sales and provided students students students stu stu- stu- stu dents with good books The best sellers were fiction fiction fiction fic fic- fic- fic tion paperbacks People bought as many as 20 each had a heyday filling filling filling fill fill- ing up their collections with the various issues of Star Trek books One person bought 36 worth of nursing books The DEX adviser Kathy Walton Walton Walton Wal Wal- ton paid 2 for each volume of a complete encyclopedia |
