Show Who Runs The Show by Odee Ann Boehme The governing body of the Institutional Council held helda a meeting on March 12 Several issues were discussed Included in discussions were a new school seal a four-day four summer school tuition and fee schedules a future Business building on the downtown campus and one small reference was made to the recently circulated letter against President Cowgill Kerry Brown a school Senator brought the issue of a anew new school seal before the Council He proposed a contest to decide who can design the best seal President Cowgill agreed to award a full year scholarship to the winner with judging to tobe tobe tobe be done by administrators faculty and students The Council approved this proposition President Cowgill proposed a four-day four work week for the summer quarter He mentioned that it saved 26 percent of energy costs and 80 percent of those involved last year felt it worthwhile The Council approved this proposal Chairman Richard Prows moved approval for the Board of Regents tuition hike of percent John Klas council member disagreed with the increase It was felt due to the economic background of students and the nature of the Technical College the increase would receive resistance The motion made by Chairman Prows was defeated However the Council can only go on record as opposing the increase They cannot lower tuition Another issue brought up by President Cowgill was the of the for the term long-term plan master-plan campus especially plans future Business building It is l high gh on the funding priority list and is a possibility in the near future President Cowgill suggested that they consider building it on the downtown campus It was suggested that further studies be made One reference was made concerning the derogatory letter circulated on campus about President Cowgill As council member John A.
