Show I L rUI I WI I u Pride Week Shows School Spirit by 63 Lorna Loma Blain The purpose of Pride Week held May 30 26 was to help instill a feeling of pride about being a student at In spite of the rainy weather spirits didn't appear to be dampened The real festivities of Pride Week began on Thursday May 28 when CAB sponsored La Vie a newly formed Rhythm and Blues Band Soul Music who were featured in the cafeteria On the same day Fisher and Todd from 97 radio we were e broadcasting live by the quad where they also sponsored a Bar B Members of the past Executive Council were the the targets targets in a dunking booth also held outside Fridays Friday's activities included the second annual Walk Run sponsored by the Mural Intra-Mural Program The purpose of the walk run is to promote physical fitness fitness and and to introduce students to walking or running on a regular basis The course around the campus is three quarters of a mile long and may be walked in inless inless inless less than ten minutes It is anticipated that the Walk Run will help students to see how easy it is to get get- started walking or running on a regular basis Winners of the Run in the mens men's division were Sterling Atkinson under 30 range and Marvin Wood over 30 range Jan Babb was the winner of the women's division under 30 range Also featured along with the walk run was the Joe Bummer Band Unfortunately they were not able to play for long before they were rained out The department of Technology and General Education along with the Technical Design Institute sponsored 87 May 29 27 in the TB building and AD Gym Featured were high technology displays demonstrations and seminars Keynote speaker was Dr Charles Dygert Finally Pride Week ended with Lagoon Day on Saturday May 30 It turned out to be a beautiful day with temperatures in the mid BOs Over 5 tickets were purchased for students and their families so that they could enjoy a fun- fun filled day at Lagoon Ti f t 1 y 4 i r I N j E y St t y President go goes s for dunking 1 i 4 s 43 w TT tT 3 r Hot Dogs Dogs' |
