Skiing is also a great group activity each skier is dependent upon his own resources to get to the bottom This is the first good quality of a sport that has many Skiing began in America with the century immigration immigration immigration gration of Norwegian and Swedish families into New England England England En En- gland the upper Midwest and northern California ia Early skis were enormous boards stiff and heavy and as much as twelve feet in length Turning these skis was next to impossible impossible impossible sible the usual route was straight to the bottom This sounds like the way alot of us ski today A thick pole helped the skier to balance to slow down and to help him miss trees and rocks Skiing can be broken down L u into three inree parts jumping dumping cross-
