Show BLANDING MISSIONARY DANCE HONORS RAMON BLACK A large crowd of friends and relatives enjoyed social dancing at the new recreation hall, Saturday evening, in honor of Ramon Black, who leaves soon for a mission to the East Central States. The party was under the direction of the Elders Quorum to which he belongs. DeVon Hurst, president of the quorum, announced the following program: vocal duet, Lucy Harris and Josephine Bayles, accompanied by Mrs. Lucy Harris: a vocal male quartet by Ramon his father, O. Frost Black, and brothers Arvid and Pete, ac - companied by a sister Renee Black; a talk. Bishop Grant L. Bayles; a piano solo, Carol Black, and remarks and a piano solo by the departing mission- ary. Elder Black entered the mission home in Salt Lake City, Nov. 4, and will Wednesday, travel to the mission field the following week. MR. AND MRS. Mr. Black has just gone back to school at the university of Utah on crutches, and Mrs. Black has been moved to her home in Salt Lake City where she must remain flat on her back for an indefinite period. Kennard and Jean, as they are known to their friends, were coming to Blanding on the evening of Oct. 17, to join in the of deer hunt. In the vicinity Woodside, they were involved in a three car collision in which all three cars were demolished. Mr. and Mrs. Black were taken to the Price hospital, where it was found that Kennard had a splintered knee cap, and Mrs. Black had her left arm broken in two places, eight ribs broken and internal injuries. For several days her family was given no hope for her recovery, but she is out of danger now. She is in a cast from her shoulder down and will have to lie perfectly flat until the ribs mend. Her husband is an electrical engineer, and was sent there in charge of a large construction job in July. A few weeks ago Mrs. Anderson went home and there and found a came to get her family. Her brother Neil helped her drive with her four children, last week. Neil will come home on the bus. The Anderson family will return to Salt Lake City in a year or two, as they have a nice home and four apartments there. LAMAR WRIGHT IS OUT OF THE SERVICE Cpl. Lamar Wright has been discharged from the service after serving the past two years. He arrived home with his parents about two weeks ago, and is very happy to be here. He was inducted Oct. 16, 1951, and was sent to Camp Roberts. After eight weeks of basic training he was sent to Radio school for 12 weeks. On the first of July, 1952, he went to Japan. He was a part of the 24th Div. Artillery group and was a radio operator. He was very active on the basketball team, and traveled extensively during the winter, and saw practically every part of the country.
