Allred officiated at the Temple rites. The brides were Laurel and Alison Sheppard, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Law rence Hawkins and Mr. and Mrs. Marion are parents of the bridegrooms. Immediately following the ceremony, the newly weds left on short honeymoons. Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins went to Garfield, and his Utah, to visit Lewiston, grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hawkins and others of his relatives. Friday evening. June 19, at the San Juan high school, the two young couples were honored at a wedding dance by Mr. and Mrs. William Sheppard. The brides chose long white satin gowns made alike, fashioned with lace yokes and full skirts. Their corsages were lavender orchids- Their fingertip veils were of nylon net. They were unattended. The very large crowd was served dainty refreshments at on the decorated card tables stage. The display of gifts was extravagant and beautiful, and they will go a long way to help the young people as they start their new life. Rogers were guests at the home of Mrs. Irene Redd for a farewell breakfast before they left to make their home at Manti. HAROLD AND JOAN MOSLEY TO VACATION IN THE NORTHWEST Mrs. Fay Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mosley and their two children left Blanding to go to Oregon to enjoy a 10 day vacation with Mrs- - Jones daughter, Irene Kurtz, and her family. They are going to help celebrate Mr. Kurtzs graduation from medical school.' They will visit with other relatives in Idaho as they go. VERNA MARTINEAU CHANGES NAME TO MRS. JACK WATERS Mrs. Verna Martineau and Mr. Jack Waters were married in the Salt Lake Temple, Friday, June 19. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Martineau of Mexico and Tooele. Mr. Waters is from Green River, Utah, but is serving his country at the present time. They were married while he is home on furlough. He will be stationed at Texas for the present, and she will be able to stay with him. PALMER FAMILY HAS REUNION FRIDAY. JUNE 19 The Jimmie Palmer family had its annual reunion at Blanding, Friday night and Saturday, June and 20. The party, Friday evening, was attended by 129 people who came from Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, and Old Mexico. A fine program was followed by a dance Punch and cookies were served. Mr. John Palmer of Blanding has been president of the organization during the past year but an election made James Palmer of Provo, president for the next year. Mrs. Glenna Lee J. Stevens is the new secretary. Saturday, the group went to the Grove on the Blue Mountain to have an outing. This time, there were 150 in attendance. She was born at Hinckley, Utah, and will stay .at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Bishop. Mrs. Bishop is the former Dorothy Wright. Girls are rather a novelty in the family as Duane is the oldest of nine boys and Dorothy is the only girl in a family of seven. Mrs. Dora Wright went Wednesday to help welcome the little girl. ANOTHER GROUP GOING SAN JUAN RIVER THIS WEEK Frank Wright, Don Smith, and Willard Wright, as boatmen are taking another group down the San Juan river this week. Otis Wright, another son of Frank Wright and Miss Bonnie Jean Shumway, are among the passengers from Blanding. After the war, he went with another German officer to Austria to see his wife and two daughters.
