Show anna ama prince redd buried in salt lake this week mrs an anna na prince redd died in salt lake lak B hospital saturday following a major ope operation ratio n for the yi oval of a brain tumor mrs sidd ad had been suffering with the malady for many months and had been hospitalized for several week mrs redd was the wife of J monroe redd and is widely known in san juan county the redds lived in monticello prior to 1932 when they moved to provo they have lived in salt lake for the past ten years mrs redd has been active in literary circles for many years and through her writings has become known to many people both in and out of the state one of mrs redds most widely read works was the hole in the rock a story of the settlement of san juan county which ran serially in the improvement era a few years ago age she has also aed ed seve several ral other stori stories a an and d berous ml erous poems and articles yf y f redd is a past president of the league of utah writers as well agthe utah branch of the american national pen women she had been active in the church and at the time of her death was wa s literary leader in the relief society of the monument park ward in salt like lake mrs redd first came to san juan in 1813 1913 to teach school at bluff it was there that she met J M redd they were married in the salt lake temple june nv 1916 and made their home at that time in monticello anna prince was born in pan duitch november 18 1890 the daughter of william and louise lu prince she graduated from the branch agriculture college at cedar city she did graduate w work ark at BYU university of utah and the university of tennessee her major was journalism during the world war 11 she taught english in a salt lake high school funeral services were held in salt lake wednesday with buriel being in a salt lake mrs redd is survived by her husband J M redd jr of salt lake city two daughters and one son 0 mrs shirley dixon and mrs venice jacobson salt lake city and james P redd of Tc T catello idaho she also has one brother and three sisters living james E prince parowan carowan Pa rowan mrs robert hall richfield mrs james A hen henrie e provo and mrs james jamea P cameron st george |
