| Show ORDINANCE the board of county commissioners of the county of san juan county state of utah ordain as follows it is hereby ordained and established that A L chaffin of hite utah his successors and assigns be and he is hereby granted an exclusive license and franchise to construct maintain and operate a ferry boat over and across the colorado river between the approaches of the highway connecting the white canyon bridges and the wayne won and now known as route 95 fe deither 7 either ither side of said river as said route is now or hereafter may be constructed used or maintained in the general vicinity of hite utah or in the event of the present highway approaches to the said river are changed because of damming or otherwise altering the levels of the water in the river then between such new approaches to the river as route 85 95 or its successor route may require this franchise is subject to be revoked in the event it shall not be constructed and ready for operation within the period of one year from this date or if after being constructed it shill shall not be operated and maintained in a reasonably safe and effective manner so as to meet the requirements quire ments of the public in tra mn in that vicinity for the trans kimation bation of persons vehicles livestock and chattels over and across said river for and during a term of 50 years this ordinance shall take el effect V and be in force fifteen days after it has been passed and approved by the board of county commissioners of san juan caun ty state of utah and published in one issue of the san juan county newspaper a news paper published and having a general circulation in said county and after the said ordinance has been so published petition and suggestive ordinance respectfully submitted by AL A L Chaff chaffie iw s A L chaffin passed and approved this ath day of july AD 1950 noel W sitton chairman john D J IV V crowley attest pearl butt clerk |
