Show Brave Rave: It's UEA! By GEOFFREY HASLAM Today, unlike other days, is a day of great rejoicing across the land. For today is UEA (Read that line again-it rhymes on purpose). This is a day with a special connotation con-notation that can be found by delving de-lving into the subliminal meaning behind this day of days (Mrs. Parker Par-ker would be proud) in other words, there is no school today or tomorrow. Looking over the calendar-...let's calendar-...let's see here: tomorrow I have a dentist appointment at 8:30, but I guess that doesn't concern you so never mind. Here's one for you: Columbus Day is on Monday so go build a ship or whatever it is you do on that day. Tuesday: The BHS volleyball team, Jill A very-coach, will host the Viewmont Vikings here at 4; or if you are so inclined, the BHS band (Dave Hunt-director), will be participating in the Davis Cup Marching Mar-ching Band Festival at 6:30 p.m. On Wednesday we have a pot-pouri pot-pouri of sporting fun for you (I thought you'd like that sentence): Cross Country Woods Cross here, the state golf tournament, and the best sporting event of all, Post High School Orientation from 12-2. Here's an interesting twist (and shout-sorry I couldn't help it) to the week: the football game at Viewmont will be on Thursday at 7:30 instead of Friday at least that is what my calendar says. I hope I'm not lying. Also, before the football foot-ball game at 4, the girls volleyball team will chuck on over to Woods Cross for a heated match with the lady-Wildcats. Remember that the girls state tennis meet is on Friday and Saturday Satur-day and also that the BHS Musical Review is on Saturday the 18th and Monday the 20th. Lastly and perhaps most importantly, impor-tantly, good luck to the BHS bowling bowl-ing squad and "Hi Marlena" from all he guys in that prestigious group of athletes. |
