Staker Paving and Construction Co. will provide the : asphalt and the county will provide the equipment and labor for-digging for-digging up the present road base. The project will cost $14 ,664 and will be completed before this , winter, Mr. Thompson said. Centerville Mayor Dean Argyle said the project is worthwhile since "it is probably one of the worst roads in the county." In other business, the council discussed hiring an engineer to consult with about closing the BARD. When the Layton burn plant begins operation in July of 1987, most cities taking refuse to BARD will begin taking it to the burn plant. Bountiful is the only city which will continue to use BARD on a regular basis. ! Com. Harry S. Gerlach suggested the council stop action on the proposal until a representative from Bountiful was present.' Bountiful Mayor Dean Stahle, who is a regular board member, was absent from the gathering. Discussion about hiring an engineer to estimate the cost and procedures for closing the refuse disposal will be on the October, agenda. |
