Show festival program in blanding outstanding event A record attendance and one 0 of f the ithe finest plays ever presented is all we hear bear from those who were a part of the large audience on saturday evening in the church in blanding when the tha theme festival program was the attraction which brought members of the MI MIA A together from all parts of san juan county the program of musical numbers and short talks began at p in and included ensemble numbers by the ladies chorus of monticello and of moab a saxophone quartette a piano solo and va vocal cal solos interspersed with remarks m arks and an address by president A J redd at p in the theme play was presented it was a three act play entitled A mans house by john drinkwater and was a story based on the happenings in jerusalem 1900 years ago Bio lical characters anc ane costumes of tarse early days are difficult of interpretation and those who took part are to be commended for the fine portrayal of their respective spec tive roles the play was di erected by reta bailey and we are told she was an untiring worker for days preceding the presentation of this outstanding play it is to be hoped that the performance may be repeated in monticello in the near future and so give opportunity to those who could not attend the blanding festival to see it following the play a viennese floor show was featured under the direction of garda A adams and philip hurst special dancers and couple dancers presented a program of interesting numbers which held the attention of the audience for nearly an hour during the rest of the evening evenin Z and up until midnight a general dance program was enjoyed by all who remained for the clodin closing hours of an evening long to be b e 1 remembered by all who attended MIA MI A banners and bunches of beautiful spring flowers formed into attractive decorations added much to the enjoyment of the occasion the wards participating included blanding moab and monticello and the three part program brot r to a close the activities of the winter season for the MIA groups |
