Show monticello LADY DIES following fl A SHORT ILLNESS 6 mrs winnie duckett died at the moab hospital at one sunday morning january ath following an illness of five days mrs duckett who has long been a resident of san juan county was stricken with a serious illness early in the mc morning riling of january 1 and I 1 was taken to moab the next day the nature of her illness is not definitely known but it is thought that a tumor or abbess had broken causing loss oi of alood which eventually caused her death the deceased lady had a host of friends throughout southeastern utah she had been a widow for 24 years and had raised a family thru her own efforts A weak heart ani stomach trouble added to her burden of providing for her children five of whom survive her mrs duckett had no enemies and no word of criticism was ever heard of her for years she was register of the monticello voting precinct A host of friends mourn her passing winnie hyde duckett was born in salt lake city december 5 1873 the daughter of W E and emma hyde she moved with her parents to bluff utah in november 1887 and in march the following year moved to monticello where she lived until her fatal illness overtook her in 1896 winnie hyde and J B duckett were united in marriage on january 28 to this union were born nine children five of them surviving they ar are J A pipkin mrs gli aien black 1311 milton Mil torr lloyd and ange ine line duckett all of monticello utah |
