Show Holladay Folk to Get Church The Holladay Community church (Congregational) held a board meeting Thursday evening at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Henry Plenk, Pheasant Way. A transfer of authority was made from the original board, consisting of members representing the inter-mountain inter-mountain board of home missions, to a committee of Holladay residents resi-dents interested in the formation of a church. The temporary all-local board, which will shape the policies and do necessary work prior to actual reception of members, includes Leslie Carl, prominent layman, chairman; Mrs. Plenk, vice chairman; chair-man; Mrs. L. B. Newlin, chairman of membership; Dr. Harold B. Carter, chairman of building and property, assisted by Charles Hanes, Dr. Plenk and A. J. Prurtt; Dorothy Kirkland, secretary, and Jean Morten, treasurer. Robert Dobson was appointed chairman of committee to prepare covenant and constitution and will be assisted by George Dreher and Al Colton. Mrs. Plenk, director of youth activities; ac-tivities; Mrs. H. B. Carter, director direc-tor of music; John Hooker, chairman chair-man of social activties; Margaret Albright, publicity. Plans are made to move to the permanent property at 48th South and Wander Lane. |
