Show rest. I'LL ADMIT, though, that it was a wonderful experience, and I had a good time, and that I sincerely hope that Sugar House will benefit bene-fit from my attendance at the Western Institute of the Chamber of Commerce of the United States. MOST IMPRESSIVE was the picture pic-ture of dynamic leadership exhibited ex-hibited by those who conduct the course in regard to the free enterprise enter-prise system, civic development, community cooperation, etc. All if us "Institooters" got a fresh look at what needs to be done at grassroots level to improve and expand our way of life. FOR INSTANCE, one of the speakers pointed out that a chamber cham-ber of commerce, or any other organization, or-ganization, was dead wrong If it evaded "controversial" issues. He warned, however, that there was a right way and a wrong way of approaching these issues. The wrong way, he said, was for an organization or-ganization to have a bias, preconceived pre-conceived notions, not hear all the facts, etc. The right way is to approach the problem by giving all parties an opportunity to be heard, to get all the facts, and to have as wide a representation as possible in finding an answer. THAT WAS very impressive to me, because I've always believed that people shouldn't get upset when they find that someone disagrees dis-agrees with them. In fact, honest differences of opinion are vital to our democratic system. On any issue, if people would present their opinions frankly, and without venom and vituperation, and conscientiously con-scientiously try to work out a solution solu-tion most beneficial to the most people, we would be much more effective in our communities, state, nation, and in international affairs.
