Show Kathleen Hinckley, senior at Olympus, and their "Teen-Talker" representative accompanied her father, Gordon B. Hinckley, to Switzerland last week on church business. They will return about Dec. 1st and "Teen-Talkers" may be looking look-ing forward to Kathleen's interesting interest-ing reports of her trip. "Teen-Talkers" HIGHLAND HIGH SCHOOL By Dotti Duncan A patriotic assembly was held last Friday, the 16th of November. The ninth and tenth grades were present to see Highland receive her flag. Mrs. Edward T. Ross, president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, District 4 and Mrs. Glenn Bradshaw, president of the Sugar House Auxiliary, Post 3586, were in charge of the program. The school band played one number, num-ber, after which Mrs. Ross presented pre-sented the flag and gave a short talk about it. The band then played play-ed "The Star Spangled Banner" and the Pledge of Allegiance was then recited. Also this week we have been in the process of taking 4ctures for our year book. Our "Back to School" night will be held November 29th. All parents par-ents are cordially invited to attend. Another eaererlv anticipated event. this week, will be the talent show. The various clubs have been selecting se-lecting their officers and getting things underway. The drama club elected Dick Dobson, president; presi-dent; Stephanie Smith, secretary; and Dotti Duncan, treasurer. The ski club is headed by Rick Will-lams, Will-lams, Joan Temple, and Carolyn Benson. In their last meeting they saw movies on skiing. They have a ski party planned for next Saturday. Sat-urday. Both the bowling club and the swimming club have had parties. The debate club is already holding meetings and is learning the fundamentals of debating. |
