Show OBITUARY Funeral services for Joseph Young Larson, life-long resident of Holladay, were conducted Tuesday afternoon in Holladay Third ward chapel. Larson was born 90 years ago in Holladay, Sept IS, 1S65, a son of Lars Larson and Karen Sophia Matheson Larson. He helped build the original Holladay LDS ward and later served as its bishop for 11 years. He also served a mission to Denmark during which his first wife died. He later married Olga Hansen. They were the parents of nine children, seven of whom survive. sur-vive. Up to the time of his death Saturday, Sat-urday, Mr. Larson lived an energetic ener-getic life, most esteemed by his friends and neighbors at 4470 Wander Lane. Survivors include Wilfred J., Salt Lake City; Irvin E., and, Theron of Tucson, Ariz.; Mrs. Olivia Oli-via Larson Schmidt, Corte Madera, Calif; Mrs. Mabel Larson Hansen, Vallejo. Calif; Mrs. Irene Lawry, Ray, Ariz., and Joseph Y. Larson Jr., of Holladay. Fifteen grandchildren grandchil-dren and nine great-grandchildren also survive. Dr. Kenneth Merrill and James Moss, church officials and close friends of the deceased spoke at the funeral ceremonies. Burial was in the Holladay cemetery. |
