Show HOPKINS ASKS SEMAPHORES FOR S. CENTER Traffic semaphores at Simpson avenue at both Highland Drive and 13th East streets to regulate left bound traffic and to time the advance of north-bound automobiles automo-biles was recommended this week. Recommendation was made by Sugar House Police Division Lieutenant Lieu-tenant G. M. Hopkins to both the-Sugar the-Sugar House chamber of commerce and the Salt Lake planning engineer, engi-neer, Sam Taylor. Lt. Hopkins, returning from his vacation, said he also urged regulation regu-lation of parking on Highland Drive between Stringham avenue and 21st South; and elimination of all parking on the south side of Simpson from Highland Drive to 13th East. Hopkins' proposal would curtail all parking during the morning rush hours, 7 to 9 a.m. on the east side, and 4-6:30 p.m. on the west side, on the Highland Drive strip. The lieutenant went along with Taylor's recommendation to restrict re-strict parking between Hollywood avenue and 21st South on 11th East, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on the east side, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the west side. |
