Show U JOURNALIST WINS TOKYO STUDY GRANT Dr. Quintus C. Wilson, head of the department of journalism at the University of Utah, has been awarded a Fulbright scholarship for six months in Tokyo. Purpose of the grant is to finance a study of Japanese newspapers, and research on the flow of news between the United States and Japan. He will be affiliated with . the Universtiy of Tokyo during his stay there. Former news editor and city editor edi-tor of the St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer Press, Dr. Wilson has headed the department of journalism at the university for the past six years. He was formerly on the faculty of the University of Minnesota. Dr. Wilson is a member of Sigma Chi, the American Association of Teachers of Journalism, and the American Academy of Political and Social Sciences, and is on the national na-tional accrediting committee of the American Council for Education in Journalism. He is national secretary secre-tary of Kappa Tau Alph, honorary journalism fraternity. Dr. Wilson is the 64th American educator to be sent to Japan under the Fulbright program. |
