He is one of the top ends in the northwest north-west and is expected to give the Parson backfield a rugged time Saturday. Teamed with Kolbaba at end is another star, Ron Lowe, a fine pass catcher. PARSONS TAKE CRACK AT OREGON 11 Westminster College, starting its first independent football season in history, picks on a toughie here Saturday afternoon. The Parsons will open their 1955 home season against Eastern Oregon Ore-gon College of Education at 2 p.m. Saturday and the game should give Salt Lakers a good idea of Westminster's strength. Coach Al Mercer, moving up from the high school ranks, has been holding twice a day drills at Dane Hansen Memorial stadium and said Tuesday that his team should be in good shape for the opener. Mercer will have the Parsons running from a T formation this year with a pair of young quarterbacks quar-terbacks holding the key to their suceess. Lefthanded Gary Nauman of Palo Alto, Calif., and righthanded Jimmy Coffey will share the signal calling position and both are capable ca-pable of giving the Oregonians a rough time.
