Show SHOPPING LANE KIFTY NEW STORE CENTER Newest and certainly one of the tastiest business blocks in all Utah was nearing completion this week, as Uvada Builders were putting the finishing touches on Shopping Lane. Shopping Lane is located on the corner of 29th South and Highland High-land Drive, opposite historic Coon Chicken Inn. M L. ' Graham, owner of the nation-wide chain of Coon Chicken Inns, also owns the Shopping Lane, 8,000 square feet of ultra modern California shopping area, with off-street off-street parking for 100 automobiles. Completed, the center will cost in excess of $85,000, Richard E. Burt, owner of Uvada Builders, reported. William M. Farrer will manage 'the block, which will house six shops, four of which are already under lease, he said. Two units, both select spots for up-to-date stores, are still available, avail-able, Mk Farrar said. With broad patios done in redwood red-wood and glass, with natural stone setting, gives the new Shopping Lane a distinction in retail store areas. The Tate Flower Studio was first tennant to occupy space in Shopping Shop-ping Lane, moving in last Friday. Memorial Gardens of the Valley was a close second and space has been taken by Gifts Ltd., Mary Anne Chocolates and J. W. Kelly. Contractor Burt is a graduate of University of Utah and opened "Uvada Builders, covering both Utah and Nevada in fine building work. He studied considerably in Los Angeles before returning to make Salt Lake his headquarters. Mr. Farrer came from Seattle to manage Coon Chicken Inn and will continue with that position and add the Shopping Lane properties prop-erties to his managerial belt. |
