Show California Teens Are Conference Guests Twenty-one families in Monument Monu-ment Park Stake were hosts to a total of forty-eight teenagers from Southern California over the Conference Con-ference week end. The young people had all achieved achiev-ed awards in their own wards in Los Angeles, and were brought to Salt Lake as a special outing. Former Bishop Arthur H. Nielsen, Niel-sen, 2178 East 1700 South, made arrangements with Sugar House families to take one or more of the visitors into their homes. Couples who responded included the Nielsens, Niel-sens, Merle Foulgers, 2238 Redon-do Redon-do Ave.; Jay Smiths, 2245 Garfield Gar-field Ave.; Frank Bergs, 2194 Blaine Ave.; Richard Mathews, 2115 Garfield Ave.; Bert Lacys, 2228 Wilson Ave.; Dee Lowders, 2170 Wilson Ave. Joe Henroids, 2262 East 1700 South; Jay Wellings, 2238 Down-ington Down-ington Ave.; Wesley Soulier, 2206 East 1700 South; Bill Daynes, 1731 South 100 East; Geneve Lowder, 1936 Berkeley St.; Carl Nordbergs, 2165 Blaine Ave.; Elvie Robinsons, 2147 Westminster Ave.; Bryan Beans, 2275 Redondo Ave.; Ferne and Eda Howell, 2115 Westminster Ave.; Elbert Widdisons, 2185 Westminster West-minster Ave.; Richard Haskins, 2180 Blaine Ave.; Lorin Claytons, 2243 Blaine Ave.; John Heistras, 2232 Ramona Ave.; and the Truman Tru-man Swallows, 225 Redondo Ave. Friday's schedule included the morning session of Conference, lunch at the famed Lion House, a tour of Pioneer Village and a barbecue bar-becue at the Nielsen home. On Saturday the group traveled to Provo to tour the campus of Brigham Young University, and the week end in Utah wound up with a visit to hear the Tabernacle Choir broadcast Sunday morning, and the Conference session. |
