Show YULE FESTI AL AT EMS ELEMENTARY East Mill Creek elementally school has planned a week of festivities fes-tivities jrior to the Christmas holidays, holi-days, according to Paul S. Worthen, principal. To initiate the yuietide season at the school, Miss Kathleen Mc-Latchy's Mc-Latchy's fourth grade class will present a sparkling program in the school auditorium at 10 a. m. and 2 p. m. on Dec. 19. Parents are invited. The acts are entitled "Fun in the Snow; In Santa's Workshop; Christmas Eve at Home; and In the Manger." All are original acts writ- ten by the pupils. Each grade will take its turn carolling in the halls at 9 a. m. and 1 p. m. beginning with the first grade on Dec. 17; second and third grades on Dec. 18; fourth and fifth grades on Dec. 19, and sixth grade on Dec. 22. The two sixth grades will entertain enter-tain the rest of the school at a Christmas program on Dec. 22 at 10 a. m. in the school auditorium, and again at 1:15 p. m. The play entitled, "The Little Lost Kitten," will be announced and directed by Ted Daugherty, a sixth grader. The cast includes the following: Santa played by Michael Taft; Mrs. Santa by Carolynne Cecil; Jolly by Barbara Twelves; Merry by John Walton; Elves by Richard Hinckley, Hinck-ley, Daniel Howells and Byron Miller. This playlet is supervised by A LeRoy Urry. Next, Miss Ruth Walkotten's sixth grade class will present the play entitled "Twinkles," the story of a star who wants to become a member of the solar system. Cast includes: Father of the Solar So-lar System portrayed by Bryant Clark; North Star by John Boyd; Big Dipper by Brent Bain; Johnny the Sparrow by Stephen Richards; Mary by Sally Dee Tolman; Mary's mother by Darlene Michaelis; Twinkles Twin-kles by Ann Allen; Twinkle's Conscience Con-science by Jacque Hurd. The school will conclude its week of festivities on Dec. 23 by a musical mu-sical program by the school orchestra orches-tra at 9 a. m. with a repeat performance per-formance at 10 a. m. Music Teacher Teach-er William C. Hogarson will conduct con-duct the orchestra. Parents are invited to attend any or all of the festivities slated between Dec. 17 and 23, stated Mr. Worthen. |
