Show 'Twixt Us Teens by Tibby Tucker I, Tibby, have met some very special teens who are busy as proverbial pro-verbial bees swishing things up at the new Highland High. For friends with all the qualities a teen likes best in a boy or girl these people fill the bill: Mike Stevens, who played football this fall for the Highlanders - - Sue Borg - - Claudia Clau-dia Egan, sweet strawberry blond - - Deanne Simmons - - the Wright brothers, who are twins but entirely entire-ly different types - - Mary Lynn Marsh - - Sue Harrison, talented violinist - - Judy Earl, giver of good parties. I, Tibby, feel there is much to be learned about being more popular, better looking, more studious, from outstanding teens you mingle with at school. or recite or play ball or sew or whatever as well as so and so and so and so! And I, Tibby, for one, feel this is very much a waste of time. I mean, really, wishing won't make it so! But working can. And with a new year pushing up front and center, a resolution concerning ourselves our-selves and our lives wonderful might be right in order. I, Tibby, think so, anyway. Look about you. See if you notice all the special boys and girls guys and dolls who are happy with life. They're busy serving, excelling, delighting, succeeding, entertaining, achieving. They're fun to be around; full of ideas; loyal to their beliefs. And lives that start out so well have that much better chance of ending up happily. . It's worth a Christmas try, anyway. any-way. And what better gift to yourself, than a new YOU? Of course, no one person has a monopoly on all the good qualities. And the way to real happiness, real success is to find out what YOU have that's good about you. Find out, and the sooner the better, and then follow the lead of top teens and get your good qualities working work-ing well for you. You can learn a lot about yourself your-self by thinking back on your past your childhood 'till now. What things do you remember the most? And what is similar about them? Think back, too, on the mistakes or slip-ups you've made in the past. What can you learn about them that will help you be a better person per-son in the future ? I, Tibby, have discovered that my teen friends who are the best liked' in our crowd are those who seem to understand themselves well who know what they want in life, and how they're going to go about getting it. They're not the wish-washes who change their minds about music, books, people, kinds of fun, etc. according to the friends they're with. Let's try harder to be individual. Let us think for ourselves and think seriously. We teens should give much thought to our personal philosophy on life, don't you think. The sooner we know what we ourselves our-selves believe and feel and like best, the sooner we'll be a WHOLE person, the SAME person, truly ourselves and the best thereof. Some teens go around complaining, complain-ing, have you noticed? They complain com-plain that they weren't born beautiful. beaut-iful. They fuss because their parents par-ents aren't as money-bagsy as someone else's. They fret because they can't play the piano or dance |
