Show GUARD FIRES SALUTE TO GOVERNOR LEE The Utah National Guard concluded con-cluded its 1952 summer maneuvers and abandoned Camp Williams Sunday. A 19-gun salute greeted Gov. J. Bracken Lee and a contigent of state legislators last week when they arrived at Camp W. G. Williams Wil-liams to review a Utah national guard retreat parade. The occasion was the Utah national na-tional guard's annual Governor's Day observance. Nearly 1400 guardsmen- are attending at-tending a 15-day encampment and have participated in artillery, firing, fir-ing, bridge buildftig, basic and combat forms of training. After retreat, the lawmakers went to the mess hall to take their evening meal with the - guardsmen. An honor guard and the Utah national guard band escorted the governor and his party into the camp. They also were taken on a jeep tour of the camp, accompanied accompa-nied by Brig. Gen. J. Wallace West, camp commander. |
