Have you noticed how many overweight people are sloppy in their dress, their personal grooming? Don't let this happen to you. And get plenty of rest. This may sound too, too familiar, but if you are rested your will power will be stronger and your body chemistry will be on a healthier, more even keel. That's good when you're trying to lose weight. by Tibby Tucker You can rival any Christmas angel on any Christmas tree. You can be the most delightful decoration decora-tion on the Yuletide scene. You can be slim, svelte, smooth, sparkling spark-ling and good company for any Christmas Caroler. I, Tibby, can give you a few tips that, if followed, will assure your being a pleasant person and having a very merry Christmas. If you're dying to diet . . . then do. Remember that to lose weight you have to do more than just "be careful" what you eat. That comes after you've lost the excess weight. Two weeks without goodies now, two weeks without tid-bitting, two weeks of thinking thin and you'll be on your way to losing weight. By Christmas . . . MMM! Then you can "be careful" what you eat and stay thin. But until then, you'll just have to diet if you're overweight. over-weight. Consult a doctor please, please, before you start, though. Here are some helps to go along with your diet. Carry a picture of you and one of a slim, trim teen. Take sneaking sneak-ing peaks at both during the day. Carry a mirror, too, for extra persuasion per-suasion that dieting is necessary. Think thin, dream thin, look at slender slim clothes. Have a firm talk with yourself that you CAN go without rich foods . . . that you just don't want them. Don't let yourself be tempted to break down for even an instant! Eat your meals slowly. Chew food well for more satisfaction and you'll find yourself eating less. Start out with teeny, tiny helpings of everything and count to twenty between each bite (silently, of course). Slice your bread extra, extra thin. Add a couple of leaves of lettuce to build up a meat or cheese sandwich and you'll be satisfied on the lunch that has far fewer calories than before. Drinking a half or a fourth glass of skim milk every hour on the hour will give you high protein in your diet (which helps burn up fatty tissue) and keep you from being hungry. Take vitamin pills (be sure they have plenty of vitamin D). You need the vitamins for body-building requirements. You'll feel better and be healthier. Take a greater interest in your grooming.
