Show COTTONWOOD DAIRY BALL CLUB FORMED With six young veterans coming back, the Cottonwood Dairy- Sugar House Cops baseball team will take definite shape next Tuesday, Willie Wil-lie Anderson, coaching-manager, reported this week. Dave McPhail, catcher-pitcher, will be one of the mainstays this season as the boys line up on the Fairmont Diamond. Jerry Leonard, big first baseman, will return, along with Hale Paul and Kimball, both second sackers and outfielders; Brady at shortstop, short-stop, and Hofhine who plays third. Pehrson, Rowley, Mike Flitten, Lambourne and Berg, five huskies who graced the Cottonwood boys last year, have gone on to bigger -leagues. Lambourne especiaUy, will be missed. He was a strikeout strike-out artist last year, and in one game alone, he retired 27 of 28 who faced him via the three-strike route. Flitten, too, was a fine moundsman. Coach Anderson declared there are numerous new prospects who are trying out ,and that youngsters young-sters who wish to register for Cop league play must sign-up (and bring their birth certificates today (Friday). |
