Show tion, the 21 Counties committee and many public and semi-public organizations. ECHO PARK DAM . . . With the wonderful support of 70 Utahns who came to Washington last week we had our "day in court" on the vital Upper Colorado River Storage project. A good case was made and I feel the project will be approved ap-proved by the house interior committee com-mittee of which I am a member. But the fight will continue to rage over Echo Park dam. WE HAVE FACTS . . . The facts on this matter are all on our side. Unfortunately, however, it is difficult diffi-cult to bring these facts to the attention of members of these conservation con-servation groups. My office has distributed over 2000 copies of a fact sheet I sent to each member of congress and I intend to send this letter out to every person who has written the house interior committee com-mittee opposing the dam. WE HAVE SUPPORT ... We also have the support of those who know the facts. This includes Secretary Sec-retary of the Interior Douglas McKay Mc-Kay and his staff. This is powerful support and I am confident that the secretary will not knuckle under un-der to pressure groups. YOEMAN'S JOB . .. . The people from Utah did a wonderful education educa-tion job while they were here. Every congressman's office was visited and the relationship of the dam to the dinosaurs was explained. ex-plained. These visits will help counteract coun-teract the false propaganda cir-cuted cir-cuted by our opponents. CREDIT IS DUE ... I wish I could mention each of the people who gave their time and money to come to Washington in behalf of the future of our state. Utah owes them a vote of thanks. Space will not permit individual mention, men-tion, but I think these organizations organiza-tions should be praised for their action: Greater Utah Valley Association, Asso-ciation, Utah Water Users Associa- |
