Show UTAH ARTISTS TO SHOW IN COLORADO Utah Creative Artists will exhibit ex-hibit for the first time May 30 to June 28 in the Museum of Fine Arts at Colorado Springs. It is the first tour outside the state for Utah artists and there will be a collection of 20 paintings hung in the gallery. Among those exhibiting will be Mrs. Elaine Mickelsen, director of art at Westminster college; Michael Mi-chael Cannon, LaVonne D. Best, William J. Parkinson, Grayce Solomon Solo-mon and George Dibble, art department depart-ment of University of Utah. From the showing at Colorado Springs the paintings will be taken in the fall to a 57th Street gallery in New York City, and tentative plans are to include New Mexico and several other western states. The Utah Creative Artists was organized to promote and create interest in Utah art outside of the. state. Mrs. Grayce Soloman, president, was instrumental in organizing the group and arranging for the showing. show-ing. Other officers are Warren Wilson, vice president; LaVonne D. Best, secretary and treasurer. Forty paintings from the group will be exhibited at the Art Barn beginning May 11 through the 29th. |
