Show VILFORD SEEKS $10,000 FOR FARM MACHI'iES "We expect to raise $10,000 on our carnival to equip our welfare wel-fare farm with some machinery, and to erect the various buildings needed on the property." So says the Wilford stake president, pres-ident, George Aposhian, who oper. ates a garage in his "spare" time from his presidential duties. With his two counselors, Rex C. Reeve and Holger P. Petersen, he supervises all the stake welfare program and the Farm FUNda in particular. Since there was no machinery included in the purchase price of the farm, the stake must buy a hay baler or forage chopper. A seeder will be needed for the spring planting. Many other smaller pieces of equipment will be needed need-ed such as a lever and a 1 ton truck. Equipment already purchased I include two tractors, a cultivator, an elevator, hay rack, mower, plow, harrower and other small pieces, but this equipment is just the beginning of what is needed. The long-range plan includes buying some beef cattle in the' future. Although definite plana plans have not been made to raise chickens on the farm, it is quite probable they will be added at a later date. |
