Show who will guest conduct the clinic orchestra. He comes to BYU from a triumphant season in Europe where he conducted 54 orchestra concerts and opera performances in the major capitals. BYU SUMMER MUSIC CLINIC The Brigham Young university j 1952 summer music clinic, a two-week two-week intensified music course for both students and music educators, will begin today, it was announced by Lawrence Sardoni of the music faculty. ; Emphasis will be placed on per- j sonal improvement in musicianship musician-ship and performing ability for the student, and general improvement improve-ment of musicianship and helpful j educational suggestions for music I educators. Hugh McMJillen, director of bands at Colorado university, and I one of the nation's outstanding j authorities on music education, j will add a bit of new life to the j clinic. 1 Roy Markle, general foreman of the C. G. Conn factory repair department, de-partment, will be in residence to give students an intensive course in care and repair of instruments. At the helm of the vocal department depart-ment of the clinic is Dr. John R. Halliday, music department chairman, chair-man, who has just returned from eight month's study in France and Italy- One of the outstanding clinic attractions will be Dr. Nicolai Malke, world renowned conductor, |
