Carmond Coles Takes Vows In Unusual Ceremony A nuptial event that will 1 long be remembered for its lovely appointments and unusual un-usual circumstances was that of Miss Carmond Coles and Floyd Wayne Ferrin. Apple blossoms and hydrangeas hydran-geas transformed the Bryan LDS ward chapel into a spring garden on the wedding night of April 24. The bride, a convalescent conval-escent polio victim, took her vows from a wheel chair. She was radiant in slippered satin. Her fingertip veil was 'caught to her brunette hair with a tiara tia-ra of seed pearls and orange blossoms. Her bouquet was a breathtaking arrangement of 7 orchids nested in bride's illusion il-lusion with ' satin ribbon and split carnation showers. Carrying out the wedding theme of "Sweethearts" the 5 attendants to the bride wore gowns of pastel satin, fashioned with drop shoulders and bouffant bouf-fant skirts. Matching satin bands embroidered with fresh split carnations were their headpieces. The attractive young ladies carried heart-shaped floral pieces of sweet peas, roses and gardenias. Honor maids who wore pink gowns were Miss Merle Green and Miss Dorothy EglL The bridesmaids, brides-maids, dressed in blue, were Miss June Gehrke, Miss Shirely Smith and Miss Carol Simmons. Little Patricia Coles, the bride's sister, and Peggy Day, the bride's cousin, were flower girls. Their floor length frocks were of pale yellow satin and net. They carried nosegays. j Keith Ferrin stood as best man for his brother. Ushers were Gene Krantz, David Lind-gard, Lind-gard, Sherman Merideth, Gordon Gor-don Stokes and Glen Crookston. The bridal party descended the aisle to the strains of the traditional wedding march played by an orchestra. The couple repeated their nuptial vows at 7 p. m. before Bishop Charles Sorenson. RECEPTION AXD DANTE The bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Armond 15. Coles, 1780 So. 11th East and the parents of the bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd L. Ferrin of Ogden, headed head-ed the receiving line at the reception re-ception which followed the ceremony. cere-mony. Mrs. Coles chose a black laco gown and pinned a corsage of Cecil Bru ner roses to her shoulder. Mis. Ferrin was in a blue marquisette with a corsage of gardenias on her shoulder. Receiving the guests who called to congratulate the happy couple was Mrs. Milton Day, aunt of the bride. Hostess in the dining room was Mrs. Ruth Peterson. Pe-terson. Both women wore orchids. |
