Show Cofiege, Out-of-town Vistors, and Birthdays FH! Week at East Mill Creek By Edith Chamberlin 'Round this time of the year most girls are thinking of "going away" to college, but not Jackie Dansie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Dansie, 3724 23rd East. Jackie has spent the last year working with friends Mary Lou Farr and Luana Ross in Berkeley, Calif. These three gals have really had a wonderful time, but now Jackie returns home to go to college. It's going to be a draw between the U and the B. Y. U. for this co-ed. The Bud Johnsons and Hy Walkers have been keeping mighty busy these days entertaining guests from San Diego. The visitors are Mr. and Mrs. Lester Taylor. Mrs. Taylor is Mr. Johnson's sister. sis-ter. Many parties and gaieties have occupied their agenda. Gerald Naylor, Core Hoffman, Howard Love, Bob Lambert, and Bobby Davis have been roughin' it at Brighton. During the week past these boys rode their horses up to Brighton, camped in that vicinity for a week, then hopped into the saddle and came home. The trip home was seven hours, and that's long in the saddle for any man. Mr. and Mrs. William T. Naylor, 3384 Oakwood Avenue, are also playing host and hostess. Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Gourley, with children Ann and Bill have been enjoying their stay with the Naylor's immensely. Miss Mary Duke's wonderfi Canadian vacation ended up with a terrific cold, but this couldn't dull her enthusiasm. She thoroughly enjoyed her ten-mile ten-mile cruise on beautiful Paradise Para-dise Lake and visits to other beautiful resorts. One of her hostesses was Mrs. Burt Wood. Miss Duke states that the trip was marvelous and knows where her next year's vacation will be spent. A birthday supper at Storm Mountain for Bill Barker. Enjoying En-joying the birthday cake were his wife, Lila, her family the Hy Walkers, and Bill's parents! the George Barkers of Murray, he picnic took place on August' 20. i Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Tanner are! still talking about their unique camping trip in Ogden Canyon. Suffering from, another late summer calamity is Miss Nina Lou Neff. Yes, you guessed it. Nina Lou has poison ivy! How she got it is still a mystery. She admits paying a visit up to a nearby canyon where the dreaded dread-ed vine is known to dwell, but states she didn't touch a leaf of it. Happy birthday to Dong Bag-ley, Bag-ley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis N .Bagley, 3500 South 27th East. Last Saturday was the eventful day, and Doug blew out all three of the candles on his luci- cus cake. Fun, fun, fun for .lay Wliitely son of Mr. and Mrs. G. M. White-ly(, White-ly(, 3735 South 23rd East and Dennie Aushernian, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Aushernian, 913 Diestel Road. These two lucky lads are off for the Phi Deit Convention in Oxford, O., which promises to be an exciting two Weeks. Two weeks at Miami, Fla., for Mrs. Roswell H. Coon, 2200 E. 3380 South and her father and son, Grant. Mrs. Coon was chosen to represent the Post Office Woman's Auxiliary down in the glamorous state and is thoroughly enjoying every minute min-ute of it |
