Show S. H. Businessmen Eye Plans For New Locally-Owned Bank A move to organize a locally owned bank in Sugar House was started Thursday, April 6, at 5 p.m., when a group of local business men met in the board room of the Sprague Library, 2125 S. 11th East. Dale R. Curtis, local coal company manager, and Lawrence L. Summerhays, attorney, acted as co-chairmen of the arrangements committee. The group heard a report on methods of organizafton of similar banks in communities similar to Sugar House. Several Sev-eral members expressed the thought that additional banking facilities were needed in Sugar House to adequately serve this rapidly expanding ara. Purpose of Thursday's meeting, according to Mr. Curtis, was to determine the possibility of a bank in Sugar House to be owned by local people. Enthusiasm for the plan was very evident, Mr. Curtis said. A second meeting will be held Friday noon at Beau ( Brummel Restaurant |
