Show HILL FIELD LADIES DO WAR WORK Ogden ALr Techinical Service Command, Hill Field, Reports a total of 42,000 bandages to be used by U. S. hospitals in 'he treatment of war wounded were rolled in a little more than six months by the Red Cross aimy wives auxiliary at the Ogden Air Techinical Service Command at Hill Field in addition to the preparing pre-paring of scores of other hospital items. Besides the bandages, which were rolled from June, 1914 to January 16, 1945, the approximate ly 35 wifes of Hill Field officers, who compose the small group here, have made scores of pajamas, pajam-as, utility jackets, binders, draw sheets, Grey Lady bags, hospital slippers and many other articles for treating casualities of World war II. Mrs. Paul W. Zehrung, .newly elected chairman of the group for 1945, said the women also made many pneumonia jackets and .ay-ettes. .ay-ettes. "We have bolts of meter-ial meter-ial for pajamas," she said, "and we will concentrate on them for awhile -as the need is urgent at the present time." Today small organizations, meeting every Tuesday in their own building immediately north of the base exchange, is rolling roughly 1600 bandages weekly, organized about three years ago the ladies began meeting in the, officer's club, later were able to! move in a small frame building ! of their own. During the week many members mem-bers Unit sox. and gloves for service ser-vice men. On Tuesdays the group works from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. After 75 hours of service members mem-bers receive a Red Cross Volunteer Volun-teer pin, Mrs. Zehrv?g said. To speed production of hospi-tal hospi-tal articles the club ia divided into a sewinir grot m and a bandage ban-dage group. All wives of officers on the field are cordially invited, even urged, to attend meeting and thus render a reai service to the war effort. Members travel weeklv from Ogden.
