Show j -Society I DOING THE TOWN F By Elaine Cannon You never know just what the weather will be in our town, but one thing you can be sure of . . . the gay doings in the soutn-east soutn-east go on forever. Mr. and Mrs. J. Elmo Garff of 19Gg Herbert Ave., have just returned from a glorious two week's vacation in Southern California and Mexico. It's the first time the Garffs have left their three children and so of course they came home loaded down with surprises for Suzanne, Patty and Kathryn Louise. The girls liked the trinkets from Mexico the best, Mr. and Mrs. Garff spent most of their time in Hollywood seeing all the big radio shows, musical extravaganzas and night clubs. They stopped at the Flamingo Club in Las Vegas, Nev., on their way home. Arrived back in Salt Lake last week end. Another southeast couple have had their little rest-cure in the sunny climes. Mr. and J. V. Glade of 2374 Evergreen have Tff returned from a candy convention and pleasure trip that took them to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Santa Anita. And as if that weren't enough they trotted up to San Francisco for a bit of the gay life up there. Returned Tuesday after two weeks away. Several couples gathered together to-gether for dinner at Beau Bru-mel Bru-mel Thursday evening. The occasion oc-casion was brought about by the ' forthcoming marriage of David King and Rosalie Lehner. the Emmett Browns, Mr. nn& Mrs. Aldon Jr. Anderson, Milt Weilenman, Dr. and Mrs. "hard Tanner, Dick Smoot. the Jack Adamsons, Mont and Edna Fae Firmage. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Ashton sent, their regrets. re-grets. Marv has something important im-portant to do with the M Men games this week, you know, and couldn't make the dinner. Dr. Elvon G. Jackson has returned to his wife and three boys after a quick trip to Denver. Bud arrived back in Salt Lake Wednesday. He attended at-tended a special surgeon's school for several days while he was away. Stcvie and the twins, Dickie and Bobbie, were thrilled with the "dress alike" suits 1 their Daddy brought them. sirs. Oscar Booth left her nusband home with their son while she went skiing with a clos efriend, Ruth Lewis, who |
