Show Richard A. Lambert, New Local SUP Head, Outlines 1948 Plans At a meeting last Friday members of the Sugar House Sons of Utah Pioneers named Richard A. "Dick" Lambert, co-owner of Lambert Cox Parts Co., 1201 E. 21st So., president of the organization. organ-ization. Mr. Lambert succeeds John W. Boud, local attorney. Keynoting the plans of the local lo-cal SUP group during his term of office Mr. Lambert stated that, "Our full efforts will be concentrated on the state park, located at the prison site. Then, too, we are making preparations for a big celebration in honor of Sugar House's Centennial on July 28." Mr. Lambert outlined plans for a huge barbeque to be held on that day at Fairmont Park under the direction of his group. He also pointed out that the state Sons of Utah Pioneer caravan will conclude its trek to the southern parks on that date. The caravan will stop in Sugar House to help carry out ceremonies cere-monies for the 100-year celebration. cele-bration. New Officers Listed Mr. Lambert anpounced the new officers of the local club who will assist him in directing direct-ing SUP activities during the next year. They are, George R. Biesinger, first vice president David M. Evans, second vice I president and Marvin Curtis, secretary. Monday, March 8, the organization organ-ization is holding its opening dinner, first in a series of monthly affairs. The dinner will be held at Weasku Inn at 7 p.m. and is open to members and "all who are interested" in becoming members. Life-Long Residenet Co-owner of Lambert-Cox George T. Cox, Mr. Lambert has been a life-long resident of Sugar House. The business was opened in the fall of 1943. Mr. Lambert married the former Mary Cox. They have four children chil-dren and live at 2311 13th East. Member of the Sugar House chapter of SUP, Mr. Lambert last summer was associated with the group of SUP trekkers who made the trip from Nauvoo, 111., to Salt Lake. |
