Show Bowlers Finish First Round The round of summer league has been completed at the Southeast South-east this week, and a new league to begin July 1 is now being formed. To complete the first session ses-sion a couple "once across" tournament tourn-ament is planned for next Monday Mon-day night. The Sugar Bowl who sponsored the Monday league is donating a $5 towards the prize money, the management of the alleys will give a cup, and the prize money will be divided on a 75 per cent handicap so a good time should be enjoyed by all participating. The Mixers team, Nesleris and Madge Garton and Keith Burnett finished at the top of the Monday Mon-day league, followed by Wards and Fellows of the Acme Ale team, and Lovett and Worthen of the Acme Beer. The last session ses-sion gave Keith high series and game with a pretty 619 and 245, and Evelyn Worthen and F. McGregor Mc-Gregor were the couple winning the cup for raising their average the most points in the season. Bill and Ruth Swan won the average cup in the Wednesday leag-ue, and Bill covered himself with glory with a 650 series and 257 game in a wild finish. His team rolled 2109 and 738 for series and 259 game in a wild finish. His team rolled 2109 and 738 for series and game, too, which brought them all a generous share of the prize money. The Jones-Colins Jones-Colins team held top place in the league; but the Henatch-Tenible, Swan-Keller, and Garton-Boyer teams ended in a tie following the leaders. The final standing of the Thursday Thurs-day league will be reported next week, but there are several ties in that league, too, indicating that the teams in this league have been well matched during the season. |
