Show Sherman School Offers Opportunity in Music Approximately 85 students of the Sherman School studied instrumental in-strumental music this year. This opportunity is open to all students stu-dents in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades who qualified under the rules set up by the board of education and the school. Sherman school has been fortunate for-tunate to have had a music program for several years with more and more parents taking adventage of the opportunity.: Some of the classes are: an advanced ad-vanced and a beginning string class, and an advanced and a beginning band. The instruction instruc-tion is of the class and group type and all the standard band and orchestra instruments are taught except pianc, according to Mrs. Ruth Bryan, president. Groups have performed for special parents and P.-T.A. programs; pro-grams; trips have been made to other schools to present assembly as-sembly programs, and these students have played at various school functions throughout th year. The capable music instructor is Mr. Arthur Overlade Jr. |
