Show We Saiv You There EMC M-Men-Gleaner Banquet By Frances Ncff and Mary Osguthorpo As we walked into Beau Brummel's Wednesday evening we were greeted at the door by a committee of stake M-Men-Gleaner officers, among them Holley Groneman, Sophie Hofman, and Belva Barlow. The occasion of the meeting was the annual East Mill Creek M-Men-Gleaner banquet. Waiting in line to be served smorgasbord were Boyd Russell, his sister, Bonnie, and Lila Folker, and just finishing the round of the table was Steve Bnrdette with his plate piled high. Examining the novel programs which were in the shape of moons were Elwood and Lorele Neff. Pausing to decide which salad they would try, or rather whether they would try them all, were Mr. and Mrs. Louis N. Bagley. Dick Watson finished his meal before many and went around the group to see that everyone was taken care of. Seen at the serving table helping people to decide what they wanted were Marie and Jean Bagley, while seen coming back for at least a second helping were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dixon. Still not finished Shirley Chamberlin had to leave her dinner to play a very beantiful piano solo, after which Kaiieen Burt, new vice president of the stake Gleaners gave a toast on Friendship. Twila Heugley with a former missionary companion was thoroughly thor-oughly enjoying a little bit of everything. Seen coming in a little late and munching on a carrot until they could really get down to business were Frank Walker and Barbara Robinson. Next years' M-Men officers were announced at the banquet. They are: Dick Watson, Rosecrest: Leln 1 Beeesley, East Mill Creek; Drostan Baker, Grandview; George Goebel, Cummings, and James Hesterman, Wilford. Examining the center pieces which were sailboats was the guest speaker, Walter Stewart and his wife. When the dessert finally came around we saw Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Irvine making mak-ing a very hard choice of the kind they wanted while others were surrounding Bod Hodgson and Steven Straw marveling and envying their enormous capacities to eat. Seen talking to Deanne Marshall, Mar-shall, Ada Whitely and Dick Neff was Bea Vaughn, guest from Kanab, Utah. |
