Show Christmas Trees Need Tags Persons buying Christmas trees this year should look for a tag on each tree. A regulation issued Sept. 28, 1949, by the State Board of Forestry and Fire Control requires that Christmas trees offered for sale in Utah be tagged. Utah trees must bear a Utah State Board of Forestry and Fire Control tag. Government tags on trees cut from federal I lands are acceptable. Vendor's tags from other states are recognized, recog-nized, W. E. Tangren, assistant state forester-fire warden, said. Reduce Waste The purpose is to reduce wasteful cutting and theft -of Utah trees. All are urged to help in the conservation of trees. A part of the new regulation follows: "Christmas trees cut in Utah for purposes of sale must be tagged before leaving the area from which they are cut. Applicants Ap-plicants for Christmas tree tags must .describe, by legal subdivision, sub-division, the lands from which the trees are cut and must present pre-sent satisfactory evidence showing show-ing legal possession before tags will be issued. Tags may be secured either through the State Board of Forestry and Fire j control or the County Sheriff 1 upon payment of a fee of $1 per 100 tags." |
