Show Final Polio Event to Be Held Feb. 11, at Skating Review Climaxing a "highly successful'' campaign, the local March of Dimes committee, under the direction of M. L. "Bud" Brain, Al Larson. Wayne Brown and Paul Pehrson are sponsoring the seventh annual Polio roller skating review Tuesday evening, Feb.' 11, at the South East Roller Skating Rink. Featuring such outstanding artists as Teddy Schuffelbarger, (J. S. Senior Men's Amateur Skating champion, the review promises prom-ises two and a half hours of top entertainment. "All total," Mr. Larson announced, "over 40 entertainers will' participate . . . from tots of four to champion skaters." Polio Drive 'Huge Success' Mr. Brain, Salt Lake county chairman of the March of Dimes committee, announced that "the drive has been a huge success. Local business houses, giving generous firm donations were in a large part responsible for the success. And the general public, pub-lic, through their unstinting generosity in dropping their dimes into the campaign boxes, insured the southeast's once .again going over the top." Praising the Ladies' Auxiliary of the local American Legion post for their untiring efforts, Mr. Brain said that their good work will long be remembered by committee members and "by the children whom they so materially ma-terially helped." Mr. Brain urged everyone interested in-terested to attend the skating extravaganza Tuesday evening to bring the polio drive to a successful suc-cessful close. He. emphasized that the sale of tickets thus far has been "brisk." The seating capacity of the ring, he added, is limited to 200 persons. The show will begin promptly at 8:30 p.m. and will last approximately 'lxk hours. The price of the tickets will be $1.20, including tax and they will be on sale at 2124 Highland Drive up until Tuesday evening, he added. The proceeds from the review will go to the March of Dimes committee commit-tee of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis. mateur Benefit ' j Following Night Al Larson explained that the I review is an annual affair. The Southeast Roller Skating club has been furnishing the talent for the show for the past seven j years. He announced that on Wednesday night the show will be repeated at the same admission admis-sion pricps. This time, however, proceeds will be turned over to 1 i.he Amateur Skating associa-: associa-: tion. Tickets for this performance perfor-mance may be purchased from association members or from the box office.
