Show I PROMISED VALLEY U of U Summer Festival Promises Top Entertainment critics as far as both coasts. Persons from all pars of the state are again invited to participate partici-pate in the shows and are urged to contact Dr. Lees in care of the University as soon as possible. Further details will be announced announ-ced as plans are completed for the Festival. Plans for the annual Summer Festival at the University of Utah are moving forward rapidly, rapid-ly, Dr. C. Lowell Lees, head of the department of speech and director of the productions, announced today. Chosen for the event, now established as the highlight of the summer cultural and entertainment enter-tainment in the state, have been a return demand engagement of "Promised Valley," history-making history-making Centennial production which initiated the series in 1947, and an English version of "Faust," long-time operatic favorite. Although no. definite dates have been set, pending arrangements arrange-ments with proposed stars of Broadway, Hollywood and grand opera, the Festival will be held early in July in Stadium Bowl. Maurice Abravanel, conductor of the Utah State Symphony, has agreed to serve as music director direc-tor for the two productions, Dr. Lees said.
