Show SH. Legion Notes Birthday Sixth anniversary of the founding of Sugar House Post fin. American Legion, will be observed at the post's annual birthday party and banquet tonight to-night (Friday) at 7:30 p-m. at El Gaucho Inn at 3618 Highland Dr. The affair will be ' in charge of past post commanders command-ers and their wives who are, in the order of their incumbency, Clifford C. Husbands, Lyman M. Sherwood. Phil S. Heilbut. Paul Beecher, and Carl A. Brown who is general chairman for tonight's party. The post was organized Jan. 22, 1910, with 22 veterans pres ent, and the charter was granted grant-ed the following March 15. At present there are about 275 members and present officers of the post are Ernest J- Hamilton, Hamil-ton, commander D. T. McDonald, first vice commander; Max E. Young, second vice comander; Horace E. Taylor, adjutant; Reg H. Cornwell, finance officer; Harvey R. Mofitt, historian; Howard Bringhurst, chaplain; Jerry E. McCarty, sgt.-at-arms, and John C. Grubb Sr., service officer. Mr. McCarty was present at the meeting held in Paris after the last war at which the Legion was founded. I |
