Show Prominent Leader Dies of Injuries Struck by a car as he was crossing 9th East at about 198'J South last Sunday night, Joseph E. Jensen, 77, of 7445 E. 21st So., died Wednesday from his injuries. in-juries. A Sugar House pioneer and prominent lumberman, contractor and builder, he had made his home in this section for many- years and had taken an active part in civic and church affairs. Funeral services are set for Friday noon in the Lincoln ward chapel. Driver of the car which struck Mr. Jensen was Don Rasmussen, 29, 930 Lorraine .ave., who told police the victim stepped from behind a southbound car into tne path of his machine. A brother of former City-Judge City-Judge Nephi Jensen, also a prominent resident of this area, he was born in Salt Lake City April 21, 1S68, a son of Soren and Kerjerstine Rasmussen Jensen, Jen-sen, who came from Denmark in 1S60. He is survived by hi- widow, Mrs. Grace Emma Horton Jensen, Jen-sen, and 10 sons and daughters, Mrs. Grace Mildred Marshall, J Mead Jensen. Eugene H. Jensen, W. Vivian Jensen, L. Marcus Jensen, Mrs. Elsie Beard, Lucile Jensen antl Gweneth Jensen, all of Salt Lake City; Vernon H. Jensen, Boulder, Colo., and G. Horton Jensen, Brigham City, and 22 grandchildren. |
